How Do We Operate?
What sized jobs can you handle?
We clean small offices and domestic premises from a mere 2 working hours per clean to massive office facilities where we clean over 30 hours five nights a week. We’ve spent over 300 hours deep cleaning a passenger aircraft and 20 mins cleaning a brass plate open to the elements.
Insurance, Method Statements & Risk Assessments
We are fully insured for EVERYTHING. Our MD makes sure of that. Method Statements & Risk Assessments are in the capable hands of our Operations Director who produces bespoke documentation for each site and situation. Special procedures for Covid-19 are also not only freqently in operation, but often reviewed.
What about the quality of our Cleaning Chemicals?
Well we use the best professional products that we can obtain at realistic (and sometimes unrealistic) prices. Data sheets are of course held in our client folders to ensure all chemicals are used safely (in tandem with other measures). We constantly research newer or specific or greener cleaning products. Why greener? …...well partly due to commercial requirements but in reality we have always looked at ways of doing less damage to our environment.
Do you pay your staff the minimum wage?
The simple answer is we pay more than the minimum wage. They deserve it. Working through a lock down is not pleasant and therefore we gave them a bonus for every hour they worked. We’ll do that again should the situation arise. This applies to cleaners of any age (we do hire anyone from the minimum legal age upwards, restricting them to the maximums legally allowed).
Cleaners’ Right to Work & DBS Checks
We always ensure that all staff have gone through all the checks (residency, DBS vetting, work permits). DBS checks are carried out every 3 years. In addition a number of our staff have been vetted by Isle of Man Constabulary (required for certain locations).
How do we reduce the risk of cross-infection/contamination?
We follow industry standard guidance using different colour-coded cleaning cloths for different purposes such as bathrooms (toilets have their own colour) would be one and kitchens another. The same goes for mops and all used cloths and mops are laundered daily. Additionally a different clean set of cloths & mops are used at each site. Good training ensures that these procedures work well.
How do we manage the teams?
Using a pro-active Operations Team with two hands-on 'Area Supervisors' and a wealth of experience. Each Team has a work mobile phone to ensure accidents or incidents (and sometimes stock shortages!) are reported and efficiently dealt with.
